Osama bin Laden Dead – 10 Things You Need To Know!
First of all, sorry guys! We were too overwhelmed by the news the world has been waiting for – Osama bin Laden is dead, finally! After 8 years of the fake claims, he is finally dead! All credit goes to our Navy Seal Team members who have made this task possible by relentless efforts.
As soon as President Obama announced the news on TV the United States breathed a sigh of relief and the celebration began! Like most of the people, we too were eager for more news and spent most of our time gathering news and watching the news channels like CNN, FOX news and others on TV.
So here we are, with all the information you need to know about the death of Osama bin Laden :
Osama bin Laden died in a US Army raid in Pakistan on Monday (May 2, 2011). The small town where he has been hiding in a fortress-like three-story building is Abbottabad, a resort town about 35 miles north of Islamabad. (Oh yes, he was not hiding in some cave in Afghan-Pakistan border as the former President made us believe.)At the time of death Osama bin Laden was with his youngest wife and an adult son.A small U.S. troop conducted a night-time helicopter raid on the compound early on Monday. After 40 minutes of fighting, bin Laden, an adult son, one unidentified woman and two men were found dead.Osama bin Laden was code named Geronimo for the mission and after the mission was accomplished the President was informed that “We’ve IDed Geronimo.”According to reports, Osama bin Laden’s body was identified by US authorities by matching a DNA sample to a sample taken from his late sister’s brain. His sister died in Boston and her blood cells and brain cells were used to make a DNA profile as per the reports by ABC News.A national security official told CNN that they used “facial recognition work, amongst other things, to confirm the identity.” So, there are multiple confirmations of the news. It was only after the confirmation; President Obama announced this news at the White House. After the DNA confirmation, bin Laden was buried in the sea. A government spokesman told the press that the burial had been “handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition”.However, the photo of dead Osama bin Laden, that has been published on the web and was shown on several TV channels across the globe is a fake one. The photo, according to some has been circulating on the web for over a couple of years now!No pictures of the dead Osama bin Laden has been released by the US officials so far. But the REAL photos of Osama’s dead body exist… according to ABC News “[Osama] has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.” The US officials have claimed that due to the head injury his face was completely unrecognizable.Ironically, May 2, 2011 also marks the 8th anniversary of former President George W. Bush’s (in)famous ‘Mission Accomplished’ Speech.
So, folks! There’s barely any doubt about the death of Osama bin Laden. We at the American DISH Blog congratulate the President, the Army and the people of the United States on this great achievement! Cheers to prosperity and world peace!!!

The Voice Premieres on NBC

With the American Idol gradually losing its charm it’s time for another great music talent show. Enter ‘The Voice’ on NBC that premieres April 26 at 9 PM. The show has got a nice concept and will surely win over the singing competition fans in the United States. You are sure to have a good time with the same.
‘The Voice’ on NBC has got everything you want in a music talent show – Stars as judges. Check. A great show host. Check, a drawn-out audition phase. Check. And some unique spice, yeah right… there’s a simple but powerful twist that make the voice stand out in the crowd. In this competition the judges cannot see the contestant. Interested? Read a li’l more interesting facts about ‘The Voice’ on NBC.
‘The Voice’ Theme
‘The Voice’ Season 1 on NBC is based on ‘The Voice of Holland’ which is more popular than the other music reality competition in that country. In this singing competition, the judges mentor their favorite contestants like X-Factor, but during the audition, they will not be able to see their faces and has to choose one depending solely on his or her musical abilities (that’s kinda nice… given that AI has become a popularity show rather than a singing competition nowadays). We hope the concept will get rave reviews in America as well.
‘The Voice’ Judges
Now it’s time to meet the judges who will also double as the mentors in ‘The Voice’ 2011 on NBC. Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green will judge this singing competition. Ah… finally a judges panel that matches the star-studded judges panel of American Idol. It seems that the new NBC show will give FOX a run for their money.
‘The Voice’ Host
Carson Daly will be hosting The Voice. We are all expecting a great host job from him. But even if he does not, the show will keep us too occupied to look at him ( kidding!).
So, check out ‘The Voice’ premiere tomorrow (April 26, 2011) on NBC. It is sure to be a whole lotta fun!
